Mapeproof 1K Turbo is a premium single-component, solvent-free polyurethane surface membrane designed for waterproofing and consolidating cementitious screeds before the installation of timber, resilient and other floor coverings.

With no mixing required and minimal product waste, it offers a fast, clean and professional solution for flooring preparation. Its very low VOC emission rating makes it suitable for residential, commercial and occupied environments where odour and air quality are important considerations.

Recommended Uses

Mapeproof 1K Turbo is suitable for use on cementitious screeds that are not affected by rising damp but contain residual moisture levels above the recommended limit for flooring installation.

It is commonly used:

• To consolidate cementitious screeds that are mechanically weak
• As a surface moisture barrier before timber flooring installation
• To reduce the risk of flooring failure caused by excessive residual moisture
• Prior to laying wood flooring, resilient flooring or other suitable floor coverings
• In apartments, schools, offices, homes and commercial spaces where low odour and low VOC products are preferred

Technical Performance

Mapeproof 1K Turbo cures through the moisture naturally present in the air and in the screed. Once applied, it hardens quickly to create a stronger, more durable and abrasion-resistant substrate.

Under normal temperature and humidity conditions, the surface quickly loses tackiness and may allow timber flooring installation after approximately 2 hours, depending on site conditions.

Important Application Notes

• Do not dilute with water or solvent
• Do not apply below +5°C
• Do not apply on wet surfaces or where rising damp is present
• Do not allow the product to puddle on the substrate surface
• Not suitable as a vapour membrane over heated screeds
• If levelling compound is required, or if timber flooring will be installed after more than 24 hours, the surface should be fully broadcast with quartz sand while the membrane is still fresh
• Timber flooring must be installed using a compatible reactive polyurethane, epoxy-polyurethane or silane-based adhesive
